Winnie the Pooh is a bear from the Winnie the Pooh Books by A. A. Milne, but is most famous for his many cartoon adaptations by the Walt Disney Company, going back to 1939. He has many friends in the Hundred Acre Wood including Eeyore, Gopher, Tigger, Piglet, Owl, Kanga, Lumpy, Rabbit, Roo, Kessie, and Christopher Robin.

History[]

Homer is attacked by a bear at the Springfield Dump. The experience traumatizes him. Later at his home, he imagines fictional bears, including Winnie the Pooh Smokey the Bear, Snuggle the Fabric-Softener Bear, two large bears wearing Chicago Bears uniforms, Gummi Bears, Teddy Grahams, Baloo, Fozzie Bear, Rupert Pudsey, Yogi Bear, a Care Bear (who calls himself "Intensive Care Bear" and is carrying a welding pipe in a menacing manner), and Paddington Bear, marching towards him.

Trivia[]

  • Winnie the Pooh was voiced by Clarence Nash until his retirement on 1966, then Sterling Holloway Hal Smith along with Owl until his death on January 28, 1994, and now Jim Cummings voices Winnie the Pooh and Tigger as well.
  • Ironically, Winnie the Pooh's appearance in The Fat and the Furriest resembled that of Lotso from Toy Story 3, which was made seven years after the episode aired.
