• This short is the first time where Bart's name is revealed.
• This is the first time that Maggie falls.
• This is the first short where a character appears but does not speak. Marge physically appeared, but did not speak.
• After the tone sound at the beginning the laugh sound from the last sound from the 1997 Hanna-Barbera logo is heard.
• The Simpson family was seen sitting on the couch and watching television in a very similar way as the couch gags, used in the official series.

• The second time Maggie hits the ground, she falls on the floor before her foot does.
