Favorite comics template Edit

Hello! I think there should be also a template for a user's favorite Simpsons comic. When there is one for the favorite game, why not also for the favorite comic?

That's pretty good. The Userbox template is there so that people can easily make their own custom templates. But I think we can create a dedicated template for favorite comics. Massive Changes and New Policies Needed!Edit

I just looked at MANY of the articles on this site and........well I'm not going to lie. This site is a mess, a big major mess. And at the risk of sounding cynical, ........ you know what, I can't even follow up on that response. To put it simply, massive changes in both content and organization need to be made. But because it's too big a job for just one person, I come to you for advice. For starters, you seem to know a lot about the mechanics of this site alone. So is their some way to get in contact of every current contributor, like a community article discussion page that everyone must participate (whether it's by policy, or simply redirecting them to the page if they try to edit or upload any content)? Because right now, we're in a state of emergency, and even as we speak, we keep getting new members who keep adding so many random and trivial details that we even know what to do with. But because this sounds like a lot, just point me to the policy page, where I can list the current issues and new editing rules.

Basically, we have a few major missions here for 2013:

1. Clean up every single article that is disorganized or cluttered.
2. Add any missing content that WikiSimpsons already may or may not have (without stealing or copying verbatim directly from their site, or at least not in a way that is obvious enough for them to detect).
3. Organize any unused or randomly placed images, for the sake of being fair to those who uploaded them.
4. Stay up to date with content regarding episodes, comics, games, etc., and continue contributing like we normally would. --Kid Sonic (talk) 22:17, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

I agree that there is still a lot of cleanup to do. It's better than it used to be. To give you an idea, there were over 3,000 redirects for the most trivial and useless things, 105 season templates that I was able to reduce down to 1 main template and 1 template for each season, episode pages that were misspelled because it was different in one of the 105 templates than it was in another, and a few policies that were pretty harsh.

There is a Community Messages section that can be updated and people will receive a notification that it's been changed, but I don't know if there is a way to redirect everyone there. We can use that to list pages that we need input on. It's on the right side of the Wiki Activity page and I see that the last time I updated it was in December.

All of our policies are in the Policies category. Two of those I am going to work on this weekend if nothing comes up. One of the other things we should do first is update the Manual of Style.

Regarding the four things you listed, the images all need to have a description, a link to the episode, licensing and categories. I will try to find a file that has that info. And regarding the second item, we should not even try that. At least one person has already suggested that, and after I said it's not a good idea, they did it anyway and Wikisimpsons spotted it.

He was just notifying me of something he saw that was unusual. But in general, admins look out for each other, because when a person causes problems on one wiki, they are very likely to do the same on other wikis. Case in point, your own petty attempts to bother both of us on other wikis. Standardizing the Appearances pages was something I saw needed to be done a while back. Some are a list, but others have the pictures showing the characters. If you want to simplify things, you can leave the page sit in edit mode while you copy the information to Word and make adjustments from there. Then paste everything back into the web page, check it with Preview, and if it looks good, save it then. P&F Wiki Edit

Sorry to post it here, but I currently can't edit on the P&F Wiki.

1) Have you decided on the Trivia sections for the episodes? I'm ready to start implementing the sections once you give me clearance (and once the blocks on IPs 182.18.208.2, 3, 4, 5, 6 are lifted). I can't add the sections immediately without your permission because I suspect that some users will try to stop me again.

2) You really need to check the "AgentGoldfish" thread.

I have been able to remove the blocks. Patrickau tends to be a bit more strict when blocking users than I am, but I also have additional notes that help me figure out if it's a new or returning user causing problems.

I have also been somewhat following the messages regarding Agent Goldfish. It's been a long week, and now the wiki has a glitch where I can't respond to anything on my message wall. So, that issue is going to have to wait until I have had a chance to get some rest and Wikia fixes whatever it is. They were probably trying to upgrade the editor and that broke it.

Could you also end the block on 182.18.208.0/24? Whenever I try to edit, it shows my current IP address (usually 182.18.208.4 or 182.18.208.6) and says I can't edit because 182.18.208.0/24 is blocked. Not my IP so I'm guessing it's part of the range block effect. Oh, and just reminding you about KinHikari's admin nomination and SunBeater3k's rollback request. Mislabeled photo from "Homerpalooza" Edit

Hi. I noticed there is an incorrect photo posted on the "Smashing Pumpkins" page (from the "Homerpalooza" episode), but I didn't know how to fix it myself or who to contact about it. PF Wiki Trivia sections Edit

I made the sandbox for the Trivia sections. I used "Road to Danville" and "Happy New Year!" for the examples. Section arrangement and content was according to the guidelines you gave. I hope I'm not obthering you, but I have a question regarding PF adminship: Do I meet the requirements and can I nominate myself? I've read the page but I'm not quit certain I do meet the requirements and if anything on the page says I can't nominate myself. I'd like to be admin so if that person ever comes back I'll be able to unblock the IPs when I need to edit and then block the IPs again when I'm done, and I noticed that KinHikari became an admin before I did. My term as adminEdit

Things are getting very complicated here on this site. In fact, more people are uploading pointless than I can do about it. There's even a number of inconsistencies, concerning Lewis' parents. One person even claimed the the loudspeaker guy for Homer's safety campaign (Season 1) is Lewis' father. Sometimes I wonder what Wikisimpsons would do in these situations, other than bar off any use of character galleries. That is the one thing that truly got under my skin, along with the alleged "copying of articles and templates". However there are certain policies they have that actually keep the articles in order (I don't know how many members they have that they had to get strict with). So maybe we should start enforcing some of their policies, while weeding out some of the ones that sound too irrational. I want to be fair and reasonable, but I don't want this wiki to fall into clutter hell, along with battles from Wikisimpsons over "it's mine, mine, mine!". I have recently moved, so I really haven't been doing much around here myself. I do scan through the recent edits to check for any obvious vandalism. Kid Sonic, if you need to take a break for a while to concentrate on your classes, that's fine. I am just now getting back to the point where I can be more active, so I understand about real life intruding.

There is a lot of cleanup to do, so I may work on that before going onto adding new content. As to what the other wiki would do, that's not really our concern. Bart Simpson Comics QuestionEdit

For the stories in each comic, do we make separate pages for those and work from there? Or do we keep it as is and put a plot for each story listed on the comic page? In my opinion I think we should make separate pages for the stories. Reason being, if we do them on one page it will create a large clumped mess.

Plus each story has their own front covers as well. Also if we were to list the characters in all of the stories in one page, many would not know which ones appeared in which story, causing confusion. If we were going to separate them into different pages, then we really should do the same for the Treehouse of Horror episodes because those have several stories in each episode. There was profanity amongst what they put, so they are now blocked for a month. In my experience, trying to talk to people like this is a waste of time since they don't care. In three years of editing wikis, I don't remember any situations where the person who vandalized a wiki came back later to apologize.

This was the equivalent of them walking down the street, going up to a random person and shouting obscenities in their face, then walking away. Most people don't do that in real life but they feel it's perfectly fine to do it on the Internet. Funny that you mention that. Early this year, two vandals (who had served their bans) came on my wiki and actually apologized to everyone on the chat for vandalizing and spamming the wiki two years ago, much to my surprise and everyone else.

That is possibly the only occurrence I have ever heard of and witnessed, where vandals came back and apologized for their actions on a wiki.
