The Journal of Milford Van Houten is a diary written by Milford Van Houten.
After finding a Diary of Eliza Simpson and reading it, Lisa learned that her ancestor, Eliza, helped Colonel Burns' slave Virgil to escape. Exited that her family did have heroes, Lisa presented Eliza's story to the whole school. However, after the presentation, Milhouse showed a diary written by his great-great-great-great-great grandfather, Milford Van Houten, and read it. Lisa learned that Eliza and her father Hiram Simpson actually later had betrayed Virgil to Colonel Burns which made her very sad.
I was reclining beneath a sarsaparilla tree, reading about one of Mr. Thomas Jefferson's marvelous inventions. when suddenly I heard quite a commotion coming from the Simpson residence.
