An immense variety of different courses are offered, including nuclear physics, arts management and analysis of animation. C. Montgomery Burns has a chair in the school board.
The school's nickname is the "Nittany Tide," a play on two college mascots, the Penn State Nittany Lions, and the University of Alabama Crimson Tide.
