Snuffy was a male hamster owned by Lisa. He died of an unknown cause. He was first mentioned in a poem called “Meditations on Turning Eight”, by Lisa, but was interrupted by Homer during her recital.
"Meditations on Turning Eight", by Lisa Simpson:
I had a Cat named Snowball, she died, she died.
Mom said she was sleeping, she lied, she lied.
Why, oh, why is my cat dead? Couldn't that Chrysler hit me instead?
I had a Hamster named Snuffy, he died..."
- According to "Lisa's Lifeline" in The Lisa Book, Lisa experienced her first tragedy at age four, when her pet hamster died in a freak garbage disposal accident. It could be possible that Snuffy was that same hamster.
