LyricsEdit

Intro
(The song starts as a ballad)
Bart and Lisa:
Our life is so confusing,
No reason and no rhyme.
We've got this funny feeling,
Getting old before our time.
(music changes to a hip-hop beat)
Gimme whachu got!
Gimme whachu got!
I know whachu got!
Gimme whachu got!
(music changes again to the beginning ballad)
Lisa:
What kind of love brings such confusion?
Bart:
Shuts out the sun and kills all glee?
Bart and Lisa:
What are these blues we're here to tell you?
Bart, Lisa, and backing vocals:
It's sibling rivalry!
(back to hip-hop)
I don't wanna share!
I wanna make you nuts!
Gimme whachu got!
Gotta have it all!
Bart:
Sometimes I see her doing homework.
Lisa:
I'm working hard all by myself.
Bart:
And who can stand a happy sister?
Lisa:
He hates I don't require help!
Backing vocals:
Ooh, ooh, ooh!
Bart:
I put a spider on her shoulder.
Backing vocals:
Oh, yeah! Ooh-ooh!
Lisa:
I'm not aware that it is fake.
Backing vocals:
Ooh, ooh, ooh!
Bart:
I ask her what the heck that thing is.
Backing vocals:
Ew!
Lisa:
I turn and start I scream and shake!
Backing vocals:
Scream and shake!
(music changes from hip-hop to blues/shuffle)
Bart:
Whyyyyyyy does it feel so good, my dear old fun?
I know it's wrong to feel so mean,
You...you should've hear her scream!
(Bart laughs)
(The song changes back from blues/shuffle to hip-hop)
Lisa:
I am not blameless in this equation.
Bart:
She likes to talk over my head.
Lisa:
Poor Bart, his trials and tribulations.
Backing vocals:
Poor Bart.
Bart:
Before a test, she makes me dread.
Backing vocals:
Ooh, ooh, ooh!
Lisa:
'Cause I predict that he will fail.
Backing vocals:
Gonna flunk, ooh-ooh!
Bart:
I chase her down when she is right.
Backing vocals:
Ooh, ooh, ooh!
Lisa:
When I refuse to just turn tail.
Backing vocals:
Hold your ground, Lisa.
Bart and Lisa:
We have our most outstanding fights!
Backing vocals:
OUTSTANDING FIGHTS!
(Back to melodramatic showtune style)
Lisa:
What kind of love brings such contusions?
Bart:
All these Band-Aids the world can see?
Bart and Lisa:
What is this shame we're here to tell you?
Bart, Lisa, and backing vocals:
It's sibling rivalry!
(The song returns to the opening ballad tempo and feel)
Bart and Lisa:
A brother and a sister.
We're trying not to boast.
But we can't help believing
That we'll always be this close.
Backing vocals:
Siblings find it, oh, so hard
When it comes to giving
Let them once try singing background for a living!
(snythesizer chord to mark the end of the music)
Bart and Lisa (a capella):
A brother and a sister,
We will always be this close.
Bart (spoken):
Let go of my hand, Lisa.
