School Days is the second track on the album The Simpsons Sing the Blues. It was originally written and performed by Chuck Berry. Bart sings it with help from Buster Pointdexter on vocals and legendary Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh on slide guitar.

LyricsEdit

Back-up singers:
Hail, hail rock 'n' roll!
Bart and back-up singers:
Long live rock 'n' roll!
Rock, rock, rock 'n' roll!
Hail, hail rock 'n' roll!
Buster Pointdexter:
Up in the mornin' and after school,
The teacher is teachin' the golden rule.
American history, practical math.
Ya studyin' hard, ya hopin' to pass.
Workin' your fingers right down to the bone,
And the guy behind you won't leave you alone.
Bart:
Ring, ring goes the bell.
The cook in the lunch room is ready to sell.
Bleh!
You're lucky if you can find a seat.
You're fortunate if you have time to eat
Back in the classroom, open your books.
Aw, man.
The teacher don't know how mean she looks.
Buster Pointdexter:
Soon as three o'clock rolls around...
Bart:
I'm outta here, man, I'm goin' to town
Buster Pointdexter:
You finally lay your burden down.
Bart:
I'm nobody's fool! I'm nobody's clown!
Buster Pointdexter:
Close up your books, get out of your seat...
Bart:
This is a plan that can't be beat!
Buster Pointdexter:
Down the halls and into the street!
Bart:
My dancin' shoes are on my feet!
Buster Pointdexter:
Up to the corner and 'round the bend...
Bart:
Can't handle this just tell me when!
Buster Pointdexter:
Right to the juke joint, you go in.
Bart:
I'm here, I said, it's me, Bartman!
Bart and Buster Pointdexter:
Drop the coin right into the slot.
You've gotta hear somethin' that's really hot.
With the one you love, you're makin' romance.
All day long you been wantin' to dance...
Bart:
Woah, yeah!
Bart and Buster Pointdexter:
I'm feeling the music from head to toe.
Round and round and round we go.
(saxophone solo, then Joe Walsh plays a solo)
Bart, Buster Pointdexter and Back-up Singers:
Hail, hail rock 'n' roll!
Bart and Buster Pointdexter:
Deliver me from the days of old!

Bart and Buster Pointdexter:
The beat of the drums, loud and bold!
Bart, Buster Pointdexter and Back-up Singers:

The feelin' is there, body and soul!
