Sea Captain as Poseidon

Poseidon (Greek: Ποσειδῶν) was the god of the sea, and, as "Earth-Shaker," of the earthquakes in Greek mythology. The name of the sea-god Nethuns in Etruscan was adopted in Latin for Neptune in Roman mythology: both were sea gods analogous to Poseidon. Linear Btablets show that Poseidon was venerated at Pylos and Thebes in pre-Olympian Bronze Age Greece, but he was integrated into the Olympian gods as the brother of Zeus and Hades. Poseidon has many children. There is a Homeric hymn to Poseidon, who was the protector of many Hellenic cities, although he lost the contest for Athens to Athena. In the Simpsons he appeared Portrayed as the Sea Captain [1] & was once seen in comic as himself.[2]

Appearances on The Simpsons[]

In anger that Homer as Odysseus didn't sacrifice a lamb to them, he repeatedly pushed him and his crew into the Crazy Islands.

In Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror # 15 story "The Gods must be lazy" he helped Homer and Bart onto an island When the were Being tortured by a fat god when he saw what he was doing he just said beat it fish face & he left.

Technically he appeared in Simpsons Comics #168 running out of Chronos Stomach as either Milhouse or Ralph, but that was just for a short time, it wasn't a talking role & he wasn't named.

Physical appearance[]

As the Sea Captain he looked exactly like him except he had a curlier beard, a toga tied up with a sea shell belt & strapped with a sea shell, a merman's fish tail, jewelry, a fishes fin hat & holding a trident.

In the comic he was shaped like a giant human but was green & scaly. He wore a crown & a toga booth also green & scaly & a green scaly beard.
