[edit] Role in The Simpsons

[edit] Series

Introduced in “Miracle on Evergreen Terrace,” Patches had given their only $1 vitamin money to Bart, where he had carelessly used it. They have since had cameos in “I’m Goin’ to Praiseland” and “Simple Simpson”, but are seen in many other episodes. In I'm Goin' to Praiseland Ned Flanders and Homer open up a bible themed amusement park in memory of Maude. Soon many people suggest that they give the money the park's sucess is making to the orphanage. The money never is given to the orphanage because the park closes down. In Simple Simpson the two are both seen checking out of the orphanage. They have not appeared since.

[edit] Comics

In the Simpsons Comics, the family accidentally adopted Poor Violet and she spent one month with the family. Meanwhile, Patches showed Bart around the orphanage.

Poor Violet often has a cough caused with years of depression that has not been let out, while Patches seems to vaguely resemble Tiny Tim from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and is nicknamed Patches because he is superb at sewing and loves to scratch the patches of nettle stings. They also have yellow skin but not the healthy yellow many of the characters have. Poor Violet has also claimed that she is very sick and wishes she can kiss people. They also wear very poor clothing, they have baggy eyes, larger then normal eyes, and they rewear shorts.
