Trivia[]

  • This episode aired during the closing celebrations of the Simpsons 20th Anniversary with The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special – In 3-D! On Ice!.
  • The closing caption that thanked viewers for 450 episodes originally read: "The Best is Yet to Come" at the end. The second time this episode aired changed the last caption to: "Now stay tuned for three Seth MacFarlane cartoons" (referring to Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, and American Dad!) and the syndicated version changed it to: "Think of all the things you could be doing instead of wasting your time with this show."
  • Guest star Eartha Kitt is best known for her role as Catwoman, in the 60's Batman series (as Julie Newmar's second replacement, followed by Lee Meriweather in the series' movie). Conversely, fellow guest star Anne Hathaway (Princess Penelope) would play Catwoman (Selina Kyle) in the third and final Batman movie of Christopher Nolan's trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, in 2012.
  • The last time someone called themselves a "Star Wars" was in "Bart Has Two Mommies".
  • This is the first episode where the Simpsons have an HDTV.
  • This episode was promoted as the 450th episode, when it is actually the 451st.

Goofs[]

Toujour l'amour

"Toujour L'Amour".

Once Upon A Time In Springfield - 371

Sideshow Mel's skin is yellow instead of his usual tanned skin.

  • When Mr. Burns is offering Homer, Carl and Lenny the donuts, they are colored pink, brown and white. When they eat them, all of them are pink.
  • When Princess Penelope and Krusty the Clown announces their love during the Krusty Show, Penelope is wearing a halterneck dress. But when Krusty is spinning her, the dress covers her entire back.
  • Sophie is, quite surprisingly, absent at her father's wedding. It is possible that her mother kept her from attending or she was not informed of its occurrence.
  • When Krusty and Princess Penelope are singing a number for the show, a flaming heart with "Toujour L'Amour" lights up behind them. The correct spelling is "Toujours".
  • When Sideshow Mel responds in disgust after Princess Penelope says "We'll always have Sideshow Mel's dressing room" during the wedding, his skin is colored yellow instead of tan.
