Neil Patrick Harris is an American actor, most famous for his role as Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother. He appears as a guest voice in The Simpsons.
Biography[]
Harris was born in New Mexico to a pair of restaurant owners. He became a child actor, then proceeded to work in Broadway. In 1991, he voiced Bart Simpson on The Simpsons. He then went on to guest-star in Family Guy, Glee, Moyo from The Legend of Tarzan, Sesame Street and The Penguins of Madagascar as well as many others. He was a character on Stark Raving Mad, and is a regular character on How I Met Your Mother, where he plays Barney Stinson, a womanizing businessman.
Personal life[]
Harris is in a civil partnership with his life partner David Burkta, and has two children, Gideon Scott, male, and Harper Grace, female. Harris is openly gay, and as same-sex marriage is legal in New York as of 2011, he has stated intentions to marry Burkta.
