National Energy Convention was a convention that was held at least once in Capital City. It was held in the Capital City Convention Center.

Homer Simpson and Mindy Simmons are both chosen to represent the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant at the convention. They both travel to Capital City where they are met with poor reception by those who attended the convention. However, despite the general hate for nuclear power, both of them win the "King and Queen" award. The King and Queen Award Presenter arrives and tells them of their prize - a free dinner at Madame Chao's.[1]
The show had a variety of exhibits on alternative energy. This did include Solar power until the booth was taken over by Oil with the phrase "Use us and nobody gets hurt" on their banner, clearly meaning they would force out any other compitition from the business.
