Looking for Mr. Goodbart
Moho House

Cultural References

  • Drunken Donuts is a parody of the popular donut chain Dunkin' Donuts.
  • This episode's couch gag is a reference to Chia Pets, and there is actually a real Homer Chia Pet and a Bart Chia Pet people can purchase in reality.
  • The song Ned, Rod and Todd sing to Homer is a parody of the classic song "Take Me Out to the Ball Game", but with a Flanders-esque twist.
  • The scene where Moe is on the photograph of the party revelers is a reference to Jack Torrance being on the photograph of the party revelers from The Shining.

  • This is one of the few episodes in which Lisa has no lines at all. In addition, Bart only has one line.
  • The Gracie Films logo that plays after the credits appears at the end of Homer's flip book. This is the second time the Gracie Films logo appears during an episode. The first time is in "You Kent Always Say What You Want".
  • This is the first episode to start immediately with the couch gag and not the title card.
  • This is the first episode since "The Great Simpsina" to not start with the title card. In the case of Moho House, the episode starts with a fade in to the couch gag, then the TV credits, and after a nighttime view of Springfield, the title card letters are seen superimposed over a shot of 742 Evergreen Terrace. The letters zoom in similarly to the actual title screen with the clouds, but the letters just pop up instead of appearing. The camera zooms through the "P" without moving the background shot as Moe (offscreen) tells the audience to enjoy the show, and the episode begins.
  • This is the first on-screen appearance of Mrs. Smithers, as she had been mentioned in Homer Defined.
