This Is Not A Couch Gag

The Medieval Tapestry couch gag is the seventh couch gag of Season 19.

Plot[]

A story is told through pictures on a medieval style scroll: The Flanders clan captures the Simpsons' couch and the Simpson clan crosses the open waters to do battle with the Flanders and take back their couch. The family rests triumphantly on their couch as Ned Flanders lays dismembered on the floor in front of them.

Trivia[]

  • This is an allusion to the Bayeux Tapestry, a 50 cm by 70 m embroidered cloth which explains the events leading up to the 1066 Norman invasion of England.
  • This is one of the rare occurrences to have the regular "Created By/Developed By" credits in the same style as the couch gag. In this case, the words are written in a different font against the medieval tapestry background, and after the "Created By" credit, the camera pans to the right where the "Developed By" credit is seen.
