Making Faces is the eighth Simpsons short that originally aired on the The Tracey Ullman Show on September 22, 1987.

This short was seen on The Best of the Simpsons: Volume 12 VHS which was shown after Treehouse of Horror II and before Lisa's Pony.

Plot

Bart, Lisa, and Maggie are making faces, as Marge does not approve of it. She tells them, in an effort to get them off the craze, that they will freeze that way, and that they will be stuck with a horrible face forever. The kids are then excited to hear that as they think it's cool. After that, the kids try to make the scariest face and Mom comes in and scares the kids. Finally, the kids make goofy impressions of a monkey and Homer but Marge comes in and tells them their faces are frozen. They go to a mirror to look. They then scream that they're doomed.

  • Concept art for this episode was included in the Simpsons Season 1.
  • This is the only time, in which Homer does not appear in this short.
  • Marge telling the kids their faces will freeze if they make silly faces is a story most parents tell their children.
  • This short and Burp Contest have the same location and a similar plot and frames
  • Maggie's blabber sounds like "that's nothing, check this out"
  • When Marge tells them that their face is frozen, Their faces are normal.
