Lionel Richie is a famous singer, who was shown singing on Mr. Burns's private jet to Homer.

He sings a song about beer to Homer on his request and then makes beer the only lyric being repeated constantly until Homer forgets the words to the song. He is later on the other private jet that Homer hires that crashes and he has troubles in being rescued as he refuses to let go of his awards, which weigh him down. He likes to rub his success into other people's faces, too, and he tells the pilot of the helicopter to let go of his awards, as he has none.
