  • The title is a reference to the 2009 romantic comedy film with the same name.
  • The scene where Homer and Gretchen are in the elevator is similar to the Beavis and Butt-Head episode, Going Down.
  • While Homer is watching the baby, he plays The Simpsons: Tapped Out.
  • Homer calls Homer Jr "Hoju", which was the nickname he said other people will he give Bart if he changed his name to Homer Jr. in Marge vs. the Monorail.
  • This is the last episode in which the 20th Century Fox Television logo has the News Corp byline. Beginning with The Kid is All Right, it's bylineless again (due to the News Corp. split).
  • Angry Burps, an app seen on Homer's cell phone, is a reference to the game Angry Birds.
  • Goo-Goo Maps, an app seen on Homer's cell phone, is a reference to Google Maps.
  • The Rich Texan stating that Texas secretly gave up at the Alamo is a reference to the common misconseption that Texas won the Alamo, when they actually lost at the Alamo and instead defeated the Spanish at the battle of Santa Ana.
  • The lullaby Homer sings to Homer Jr uses the tune of the show's theme song.
