Cultural references[]

  • The episode title is a pun on the Elvis Presley song "Love Me Tender."
  • The blackboard gag references the finale episodes of two shows:
    • St. Elsewhere - The finale revealed that the entire series was the dream of an autistic boy.
    • Lost - The series finale aired on May 23, 2010, the same day as "Judge Me Tender."
  • On the cover of the magazine Simon and Moe are on, it says "Simon Cowell with the creature from Pan's Labyrinth'"
  • When Homer is shown in the bed with Marge, he had described himself as the "Tiger Woods" of sex referring to Woods' sex affairs.
  • The "great song about Alabama" heard when the taxi driver turns the radio on was a classic 70's song named "Sweet Home Alabama" preformed by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
  • When Ralph cusses, it could be a reference to Lindsey cussing in "The Total Drama Island" episode "That's Off The Chain!"

Trivia[]

  • During the opening credits, Lisa's saxophone is replaced with a trumpet.
  • This is the first time Ralph Wiggum swears.
  • This is the second time that Moe was adored by all Springfieldians after Pygmoelian.
  • In Moe's Tavern there are pictures of Otto, Apu, Homer and himself in The Pin Pals ("Team Homer") and the Springfield Base Ball team ("Homer at the Bat").
  • When a paparazzo took a picture of More, the sound recording is the exact same from the Tracey Ullman short "Family Portrait".

Goofs[]

  • In the scene where the American Idol judges comment on the competitor's performance, at first Randy and Ellen can be seen sitting next to Kara. However, when Kara comments on the performance, Simon and Moe can be seen sitting next to Kara.
  • After Moe agrees to judge the beard contest, Homer, Barney, Lenny, Carl and the man with the big beard thank him in lady voices. But when Moe scares them off with the light switch, the bearded man has disappeared and only the other guys are seen running off.
  • Homer says that he wanted to name Bart "Barf", but Marge was afraid that other kids would make fun of him. However, the flashback in "I Married Marge" shows that Homer was more reluctant to use Marge's name ideas in fear of the same thing.
    • Although it could be possible that Homer did suggest some name for Bart when Marge was pregnant and that Marge was worried about Bart being made fun of but he just never mentioned this to the kids. Or he could be just lying to Bart.
