John William "Johnny" Carson (October 23, 1925 – January 23, 2005) was a legendary media icon: television host and comedian. He was best known for his time on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. He appeared as himself in "Krusty Gets Kancelled."
Carson was also voted joint 4th in IGN's "25 Simpsons Guest Stars" along with Hugh Hefner, Bette Midler, Luke Perry, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
After a battle with emphysema, Carson died on January 23, 2005 at age 79.
