- This article is about the character. For the guest star, see Janet Reno.
Janet Reno was an American lawyer and politician.
When Bart was wrongly accused of a prank and was taken to youth court, Grampa then said that he knew Janet Reno, his old friend who he played chess through the post with. Bart and Lisa hadn't believed him, until he called Janet Reno to be the judge for the trial.
Janet Reno heard all the testimonies and then got everyone who disliked Bart to stand trial, including Homer, Sideshow Bob, Moe, Agnes Skinner, Reverend Lovejoy and Apu. Eventually, Fruit Bat Man brought Groundskeeper Willie in who confessed it was him. Janet Reno then announced that Bart wasn't found guilty.
Behind the Laughter
- The character was voiced by both Janet Reno and her sister, Maggy Reno Hurchalla, because Janet Reno developed Parkinson's disease in 1995, causing her to be unable to speak longer sentences.
- It is possible that the character could've made her first appearance in Bart's Girlfriend, but only her name was seen.
