Trivia/Previous Episode References
- The couch gag, Homer's Evolution couch gag, would remain the longest until Season 26. It is now the second longest at 1 minute and 10 seconds, with the most longest being the "Rick and Morty Couch Gag" at 2 minutes and 21 seconds.
- In two other photos, Bart and Lisa appear behind a background of Florida and France, referencing the episodes Kill the Alligator and Run and The Crepes of Wrath, respectively.
- Marge saying "it was nice of NASA to send you up again" is a reference to when Homer went to space in Deep Space Homer. Apparently for the re-staged photos, Homer went back up there.
- The celebrities Homer sees coming out of the Springfield Dry Cleaners are
- Paul McCartney from Lisa the Vegetarian
- Gary Coleman from Grift of the Magi
- Yao Ming from Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass
- Mr. T from Today, I Am a Clown
- Elton John from I'm with Cupid
- Jimmy Durante (even though he never met Homer as he died in 1980)

Cultural references
- The episode title is a spoof on the word "paparazzi".
- In the couch gag, the tyrannosaurus rex with Bart's face uses the roar of the T-Rex from Jurassic Park and the stegosaurus with Lisa's face uses Godzilla's roar.
- Sideshow Mel eating the flag is a reference to Futurama, when Dr. Zoidberg ate the flag.
- Paris Texan is an obvious parody of Paris Hilton.
- In the "Happy 1987" photo, which Marge takes after their family album was destroyed, Bart, Lisa and Homer look just like they were drawn in The Tracey Ullman Show.
- The song played during the sequence of Marge re-taking the family pictures is "Freeze-frame" by the J. Geils Band.
Goofs
- In one scene, the family vehicle colors were inverted: Homer's pink sedan was papaya-red while Marge's papaya-red station wagon was pink.
- Betty White asks Homer about his family, even though she never met them and therefore wouldn't understand who they are.
