[edit] Role In The Simpsons

[edit] Primary Role

Gunter and Ernst have not appeared in many episodes only appearing in $pringfield, The Two Mrs. Nahasapeemapetilons, Viva Ned Flanders, and Jazzy and the Pussy Cats.

[edit] Major Appearances

The duo preforms at the Monty Burns Casino with their tiger Anatasia. Anatasia has a dream about her life in the past and then her eventual capture by Gunter and Ernst (via a tranquilizer dart). Anastasia then goes out of control and attacks them. The duo appears later in the episode when Marge gets hypnotyzed by gambling and Maggie goes of and runs into Anatasia while Gunter and Ernst are talking to a guy who believes they live in the casino. Barney however rescues Maggie from Anatasia and then gives her back to Marge.

[edit] Minor Appearances

In The Two Mrs. Nahasapeemapetilons they appear at the airport where Marge and Apu are waiting for Manjula and have an argument with the ticket man. They appear in Viva Ned Flanders when Homer and Ned try to escape from their vegas wives Amber and Ginger Gunter and Ernst appear as casino security. At the end of the episode Amber and Ginger dump Homer and Ned for Gunter and Ernst. In Jazzy and the Pussycats appear at the funeral for Amber Simpson.

[edit] Model for Character

They are based on real life entertainers Siegfried and Roy. Their tiger Antasia is based on Siegfried and Roy's tiger Montecore.

[edit] Similaraties to Seigfried and Roy

In a case of fact following fiction, the 1993 episode “$pringfield” depicts the duo being savagely mauled by their trademark white tiger, Anastasia. Ten years later, the trained white tiger Montecore dragged Roy Horn off-stage by his neck during a performance at The Mirage.
