- “I don't think we're very similar.”
- ―Quagmire's response to Lenny not caring for sex
Glenn Quagmire (born Glenn Quagglechek) is the sex-crazed, perverted character on Family Guy who seems to have a deep hatred of the Griffin family dog, Brian Griffin. He does however seem to get along with all the other Griffin family members, especially Peter Griffin. He is also friends with Cleveland Brown and Joe Swanson and he constantly hits on Peter's wife, Lois Griffin.
In the episode "The Simpsons Guy", Quagmire and the the bar friends were all, sitting around at the Drunken Clam with Peter, congratulating him for making a newspaper comics. Quagmire made the suggestion that Peter makes a he does a comic with an anthropomorphic sock that says "Sock it to me" and also a comic where Lois defecates in a hot tub and that whatever she says in unimportant. Quagmire clearly just wanted Peter to do that because he's a pervert and wanted to see something gross like that. When Peter befriended Homer, he declared him his best friend and said "Quagmire who?", and then Homer laughed and also said "Quagmire who?", and then added that it was a legit question, as he had no idea who Glenn Quagmire was. Later in the episode, Quagmire is shown sitting beside Lenny Leonard at the trial, with both of them being the bar friends of the main character. He asks Lenny if he likes sex, to which he replies with an indifferent "Meh". Quagmire said that they're not really that much alike.
If Quagmire's entire character could be summed up in one word, it would be "pervert". He is a sex-crazed, uncontrollable deviant who has sex with different women every night. He's very macho and chauvinistic and doesn't seem to care about the actual feelings of women, wanting them only to get them in bed. He's extremely kinky and would dare to do all kinds of positions and activities with girls. Aside from this, Quagmire's personality is pretty similar to Peter's, being a pretty crazy and stupid guy who will get himself into all kinds of danger, without thinking of it. Still, however, he is a bit smarter than he is, often times knowing better than to do what Peter does and getting annoyed with what he does sometimes.
- Quagmire was also involved in an controversial gag in the Family Guy episode "Movin' Out (Brian's Song)" where he sexually assaulted Marge Simpson before murdering all five main Simpson family members. Matt Groening threatened to end his friendship with Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane over the gag, and further cross-references between the two shows were temporarily banned by FOX as a result.
