Come on, Bart. Catch the ball so we can all go out for some frosty chocolate milkshakes.
Homer Simpson

Football is the eleventh Simpsons short and originally aired on The Tracey Ullman Show on October 18, 1987.

Plot[]

Bart, with Lisa and Maggie watching, attempts to catch a football thrown by Homer and Homer tells him that they'll all go out for frosty chocolate milkshakes if he succeeds. In his first attempt, he hit a tree and a giant wooden pole before hitting a brick wall just before the football lands into it as well. While trying to catch it for a second time, he dodges a fence, a ditch and the Barking Dog before running off a cliff, missing the football once again. Once more, Bart attempts to catch the ball, but this time with Lisa and Maggie cheering him on. This time, Bart catches the ball, but in his mouth rather than his hands like how Homer wanted. As Bart, Lisa, Maggie, and Dad go to an ice cream parlor to get what are now frosty strawberry milkshakes, Bart still has the ball in his mouth and has trouble being able to drink his milkshake. When Homer threatens to drink his milkshake, Lisa puts the straw in Bart's mouth so he can drink it.
