Willie Hugh Nelson is an American country music singer-songwriter, author, poet, actor and activist. Nelson achieved his greatest fame during the outlaw country movement of the 1970s, but he remains an icon of American pop culture. He has performed in concerts and fundraisers with other major musicians. In recent years, Nelson's recordings have branched out into different musical genres such as reggae, blues, jazz, folk, and popular music.

On The Simpsons, Nelson voiced himself in the episode "Behind the Laughter", where he performs a "Phony Awards" show.
