The Spine Melter 2000's spacey effects
Spine Melter 2000 is a luxury chair, which Homer wants to buy after Bart and Lisa break the brown couch. Homer tries the chair, which induces a parody of 2001: A Space Odyssey. He wishes to buy the chair; however, Marge says to save the $2000 for another cause – washer and dryer. This leaves Homer unhappy, although he invests the money into the The Baby Translator. After the investment, Herb buys the chair for Homer. However, it is replaced by the brown couch in later episodes.
In the season 21 episode 'The Color Yellow' the chair can be seen in the attic, with Homers Mr Plow jacket resting upon it.
