Larry the Looter is an arcade game. The object of the game is to loot items without getting caught or killed. The title is most likely a reference to the famous "Larry the Laffer" games.

History[]

Bart plays the game at his birthday party held at Wall E. Weasel's.

Trivia[]

Ironically, the game debuted on The Simpsons three months before the infamous Rodney King verdict riots which saw widespread looting and arson across Los Angeles after the four officers who were videotaped assaulting King were acquitted at the state level; two of the officers would later be convicted on federal charges. When Bart played the game, Larry would also be killed by a shopkeeper ala Latasha Harlins. At the time the episode aired, Soon Ja Du, the shopkeeper who shot Harlins, was appealing her guilty verdict. Ironically, Bart would also claim "stick to the man" while playing the game.

Larry the Looter has been made into a Flash game by GumpyFunction with similar graphics and game mechanics as depicted in the 'Radio Bart' episode.[1] Unlike in The Simpsons: Virtual Springfield or Hit & Run, it is possible to actually evade the shopkeeper's shotgun and even kill the shopkeeper, and the game contains numerous other references to The Simpsons.
