Bernd Simon
Bernd Cornelius Simon (August 24, 1946, Hamburg, Germany - November 27, 2017, Munich, Germany) was a German music producer and voice actor who provided the German voice of Moe Szyslak.
Biography[]
The son of musician Hans-Arno Simon, he worked as a producer for singers like Agnetha und Danyel Gérard, and later sang himself under the pseudonym Simon Butterfly.
In 1985 he started working as a voice actor for animated television shows, providing the voice of the decepticon Starscream on The Transformers, and to Gregory Harrison's character on Judging Amy. From 1991 to 2017, he was the voice of Moe Szyslak on every episode of The Simpsons and The Simpsons Movie.
He died of a heart attack on November 27, 2017 in Munich, Germany at the age of 71. His role of Moe Szyslak has since been taken over by Gudo Hoegel as of season 29.
