  • The title is a reference the 2008 British film The Bank Job.
  • Milhouse was seen holding a Barney the Dinosaur doll.
  • When Homer and Lisa are chasing T.R. Francis, three dinosaurs are seen smoking in a side room - this is an exact replica of a Far Side cartoon, "The Real Reason Dinosaurs went extinct".
  • When Homer Says "This Babar needs a Zephyr" to Bart, he is referencing the book/television series Babar the Elephant.
  • Shaun White: Snow Vampire is a reference to the Shaun White Snowboarding games.
  • The Bourne Continuation is a reference to the Jason Bourne book series.

  • The Steve Hely novel How I Became A Famous Novelist, which also revolves around writing a commercially successful pastiche novel solely for personal gain, is being offered at the Springfield Book Fair.
  • This episode technically breaks the fourth wall, as one of the titles says "The Commercials" moments before the commercial break.
  • This is the second time someone thinks Moe is a troll. The first was in "Marge Gamer". also, in both situations, he technically proves to be a troll (living under a bridge/bleeding green).

Goofs[]

  • T. R. Francis was depicted in "The Haw-Hawed Couple" as an old lady. In this episode, she is middle-aged. Either T.R. Francis was a real woman (the old lady) who died and whose books are still being written despite her death, or the publishing company changed T.R. Francis into a younger woman for publicity/marketing reasons.
  • The people at Sitting with Dinosaurs move places several times.
  • During the scenes with The Crew in the TweenLit Inc. headquarters, the times on their watches change frequently.
  • When the TweenLit Inc. publisher is talking about the audio book, the shade of white on his coat changes.
  • Lisa had no backpack in the dinosaur show, but in the gift shop and talking to T.R. Francis, she has one, and when she's sitting in front of her camarin, her backpack is gone again.
  • The Allosaurus head looks more like a Tyrannosaurus'.
  • Lisa appears out of nowhere when Homer is being dragged away within the dinosaur head.
