"Cape Feare" is the second episode of The Simpsons' season five. Its plot, a parody of the horror film Cape Fear, revolves around the return of Sideshow Bob.

[edit] Synopsis

After writing threatening letters to Bart Simpson, Sideshow Bob is released from prison. He then follows the Simpsons to the town of Terror Lake where he attempts to murder Bart Simpson. While on their new house boat, Bart, as a last request, convinces Bob to sing the entire score of the HMS Pinafore. They float by Springfield, where Bob is arrested by the police and is sent back to jail.

[edit] Reception

In 2003, Entertainment Weekly named this the third greatest episode in the history of the show.
