Cultural references[]

  • The title of the episode is a parody of the term "Bully" and on the Pixar's film Wall-E.
    • Coincidentally, Albert Brooks voiced Marlin in Finding Nemo, and its sequel Finding Dory, which were both directed and co-written by Andrew Stanton, who also did WALL-E.

This is the same name as the villain in the Fairly Odd Parents episode The Big Superhero Wish! The original person was Francis.

  • The talking train Otto hits is a reference to Thomas The Tank Engine and his voice is based on Ringo Starr's, who was the original narrator for Thomas and Friends for the first two series.
  • The scene with Homer kneeling is a reference to the movie Koyaanisqatsi.
  • A rare instance of a modern song playing in an episode, in this case, Daft Punk with Get Lucky.
  • When Marge proposes the anti-bully campaigns she quotes a song of South Park.
  • Miss Frizzle from The Magic School Bus TV series appears in Otto's dreams.

Errors[]

  • An anti-bullying law in Springfield is unnecessary, as there is a federal law against bullying.
  • Milhouse was seen carrying a candy cane, even though he is allergic to the red part of the candy cane as shown in "Holidays of Future Passed.”
  • Nabendu’s clothes are pink rather than green when Apu gets arrested.
