In 2016, Dutch chemist Ben (short for Bernard Lucas, or B.L.) Feringa won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, "for the design and synthesis of molecular machines".[1] The prize was shared with Jean-Pierre Sauvage and Sir J. Fraser Stoddart.
